Trial of Oxford's corona vaccine halted, know what WHO said

The trial of the Oxford University COVID-19 vaccine has been stopped. The move was taken because of a British volunteer taking part in the trial. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that the highest safety in the Corona vaccine is our priority. WHO Chief Scientist Dr. Saumya Swaminathan said that we are talking about speeding, it does not mean that security will be compromised. All the rules should be followed in the vaccine making process. Before giving medicines and vaccines to people, their safety needs to be checked.

Let us tell you that along with Oxford, biopharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca is preparing this vaccine. After being successful in the first and second phases, the third phase of the vaccine trial is underway. It is expected to hit the market early next year. In the third phase of the vaccine trial, approximately 30,000 volunteers from the US, UK, Brazil and South Africa are involved. Testing has stalled in all four countries.

Testing will begin soon

A spokesperson for Estrogenica stated that as part of our standard process during global testing of the vaccine, we have just discontinued testing for an independent trial review. He stated that the opposite effect has only been shown on one volunteer. Our team is reviewing this so that the test deadline is not affected. We are committed to meet safety and testing as per the prescribed standards. The test is expected to resume soon.

Trial not stopped in India, DCGI notice

The Serum Institute of India (SII), which is testing the vaccine in India, has given information about not stopping the test here. In this case the Central Drug Regulatory Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) Drs. VG Somani has sent a show cause notice to SII for not giving information about the vaccine test abroad. It has asked why the test should not be stopped for security reasons at the moment. Reacting to this, SII has asked to follow DCGI's instructions, adding that it has not yet received instructions to stop the trial.

Serum received notice, second and third tests may be banned

The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) on Wednesday issued a notice to the Serum Institute of India (SII) based in Pune. The notice asked why the company was not informed of the serious adverse consequences that caused its UK partner AstraZeneca to 'temporarily pause' the global clinical trials of the Oxford Kovid vaccine candidate. While testing is going on at 17 places inside the country.

DCGI's VG Somani has asked why the permission given for second and third stage testing should not be postponed until patients are protected. Earlier on Wednesday, SII said it had not yet received any clear instructions to stop the trial. DCGI states that Pune's SII has not presented an analysis of serious adverse outcomes for the continuation of Phase II and Phase III clinical trials.

The notice came at a time when SII CEO Adar Poonawala said that clinical trials for Phase II and Phase III would continue uninterrupted at all 17 locations. While on Tuesday a UK-based volunteer showed unexplained neurological side effects of the drug. Poonawala said, "The vaccine is completely safe." As far as Indian trials are concerned, we have not faced any kind of trouble. '

If there is any concern about the safety of DGCI, we will follow the instructions and standard protocol.
